How to get to Castaways Resort & Spa
Castaways Resort & Spa is located approximately 1,5 hours drive south of Cairns (closest international airport) or 2,5 hours north of Townsville. The perfect stop-over for visitors travelling along the coast. We are first and foremost a self-drive destination and there are a wide range of car rentals businesses available both in Townsville and Cairns. The main reason why we recommend self-drive is to avoid our guests being confined to the resort as there are so many great activities and tours to partake of in the area. Complimentary car parking is available for all guests at the resort and our Tour & Activities desk can help you with planning your activities and make great recommendations on “local gems”.
Resort Transfers
For guests that do not wish to drive we offer resort transfer facilities to Tully train station as well as Cairns airport. Our transfers are shared transfers booked upon requests and times will be confirmed based upon bookings and requests.
Prices are as follows:
- Tully train station $40 return per person
- Cairns airport from $550 return / car
- Minimum number of guests to run: 2
Private Transfer
Should you wish to book private transfers from the airport there are a few different options available.
Hummer’s and Harleys – Relax in a stretched Hummer fully equipped with 3 bars, make-up mirrors and TV screens. Great for large groups up to 16 people.

Offering a range of services including Car Hire, Chauffeured Limousine, Charter Bus and Taxi Services to get you around between Cairns and Townsville in North Queensland.
Based in Mission Beach and Cardwell, they can move you through the Cassowary Coast and Great Green Way.
